Exposing our girls to new cultures and cultural elements is a key Pillar of NCL, Inc.
In our 6 Year Plan, each grade level is charged with addressing a focus area of Culture.
7th grade Theater
8th grade Music
9th grade Dance
10th grade International
11th grade Museum and/or Garden
12th grade Class choice
Attending local high school plays, cultural heritage festivals, college music performances, visiting acrobatic dance performances, participating in Zumba dance classes, sharing a meal at local ethnic restaurant are just a few ways our girls have explored cultures through their class experience.
We also have 2 chapter wide events a year that require the membership to dress up and use the fine arts of etiquette. We hold a Holiday Tea and a year-end Recognition Dinner.
Each grade level has a specific job at our Tea from writing formal RSVP’s, addressing envelopes to the membership, taking coats, receiving guests, serving tea and sandwiches.
By producing and providing these 2 events annually, our hope is that when our girls graduate they will be as comfortable serving dinner to our homeless population, as they would be having tea with the Queen of England or meeting the President of the United States.
